This may seem like an idiotic question, but I've heard of it being done before so I'll ask.

I have a 19" widescreen westinghouse monitor. It's nice, except the maximum resolution it does it 1440x900, which looks really bad on OS X. A lot of programs look blurred or just bad on the low resolution. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the resolution it can output without installing a new panel or anything. If not I might just buy a new monitor soon, because this resolution is really annoying. But I'd rather not spend the money, so I'm putting this out there and hoping to get a response.

its the highest resolution is displays, because its the highest resolution it can physically display ie the screen has 1440 pixels across and 900 pixels up. There is no way to hack it, unless you put another couple of hundred pixels on the screen.

Apple are using 1440x900 pixel displays in the 15" MBP now; to put that res in a 19" would make it blurry!

Yea it's quite blurry, and really annoying when using some apps.
