Hack the mini display port? (for macbook late2009)

AFAIK, this macbook only supports video transfer through mini display port > hdmi (i.e.)

so, i've been wondering if it is worth to hack it a little bit...

let me try to explain my idea:
- #1 break (cut) this adapter so i can get access to its "inside"
- #2 solder a proper wire & 3.5mm plug for computer audio - which would be plugged in audio output jack on macbook.

so i can get and audio over HDMI cable

anyone with similar experiences ?
