- What do you think Steve Jobs would say or do if he seen someone running a hackintosh laptop?

Pointless thread:eek:

"At least their running OS X and not Wincrap"

Seriously pointless:p

Dunno, could go both ways with Jobs. OS X86 is too easy to get now. But when the only users where those developing the software. He would probably have been impressed more than anything. I think he could relate, being an ex- blue-boxer, pranker and underdog.

Right now, he'd probably just laugh at you. Except if you actually built the whole laptop (case and all and had a really good design) and put osx86 on it ;)

You have to remember, he built a little black box to steal phone calls in his youth. Unless your looking to profit off of his hard work (i.e. Pystar???), I doubt he'd have much to say.

He'll slap your back and call you comrade.

He'll say something like it is against the law to run Apple's software on another machine. Idk something like that..

In this unlikely situation, should he react negatively, I would tell him that (1) I wouldn't run OS X on my Dell mini if they offered a reasonably priced netbook, and (2) that of the people who I've helped get OS X running on their PC's (all also Dell mini's) most are so impressed that they are SERIOUSLY considering either iMac's or MacBook's/Pro's. These are people who NEVER would have bought a Mac if they hadn't had a chance to play with it for an extended period.

I personally think the Hackintosh scene sells more Macs then the Mac ads at this point. The Dell mini in particular - it's a really easy install and works great.

He wouldnt mind unless u were trying to sell it or went and got a pc from a company just for that.

he would be glad ur using os x.:p

Look at the computer, look at you, look at the computer, look at you...shake his head and go back to reading macrumors on his macbook pro, muttering to himself about people still complaining about the lack of firewire on the mac books....

To a certain extent yes. I had osx86 running on my PC for a year and a half. I loved it so I bought a macbook !

Mind you, if I had to get a desktop, I'd seriously consider a vanilla hackintosh.

For most people playing around with a mac for a few months gives you a feal for it. Most people have a bad preconcieved idea of how things work on a mac and a lot get further thrown off when they don't feal comfortable with the GUI...
