Merry Christmas everyone!

Had my series 3 for a long time at this point - still worked ok, biggest thing that I was missing on was the lack of new watch faces, whereas the series 4 onwards was getting lots of new ones, series 3 hasn’t had any for a while

The screen size I absolutely love, I got the starlight aluminium 45mm one, I’ve heard the stainless steel ones are much nicer this year but I’ve been lucky just to get one at all this year so I can’t complain

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Well, we know you are! ?

Great Christmas treat for you — a new Series 7! Color me green with envy…

We're happy here. Nice breakfast, opened a few gifts; rain has, alas, washed away most of the snow.

But best news of the day was that successful launch of the James Webb Space Telescope. It was great fun (albeit tad tense) watching the countdown coverage. Yet, wonderful, as the JWST is an international cooperation of the European Space Agency, the Canadian, and NASA. Brilliant, enthusiastic, informative commentary, with lots of diverse accents, and scientists and engineers from different countries around the globe.

We definitely all share this precious Pale Blue Dot…

Merry Christmas to you and everyone else, too!

Now back to the present feast, phone calls, Christmas games, photos, and craft projects, etc.

Congrats! while I switched from my S3 to a S4 a long time ago, I love my S7, way way better than S4.
Happy holidays

Enjoy your new watch!! I got an SE today as an upgrade from my Series 3 and absolutely love it. The new watch faces look so nice!!

Happy holidays! :)

The jump from series 3 to 7 has been worth it - when you look at the screen sizes now it’s incredible how much we have come on in not even 5 years, don’t think they can go bigger than what it is now

Merry Xmas!!!

Congrats on the move up to series 7. That's a significant jump. I went from a series 5 to a 7 a couple months ago and found even that was a jump. Especially the size difference. My old 44 was great but the 45 is wow!

Wow, I did the EXACT same thing as you, Series 3 used every day since I bought it new, and traded it in for a 45mm Starlight S7. It’s crazy how much faster it runs, no glitching getting out of apps, and I love the always on screen. Congrats!

I went from series 0 to 7 yesterday. Though I’d basically stopped wearing the zero. Not only a big feature upgrade but a big usability upgrade as well. I’ve missed my workout tracker.

I went from the S1 to S4 a few years ago. That upgrade was great. Will probably make the jump to a S8 next year. My 4 is still doing great. I love my Infograph face.

Enjoy!

I jumped from Series 0 to Series 6 last year. It was like a completely different product, rather than an upgrade.

Merry Christmas! I got a series 7 too but upgraded from a series 5 because I'm less patient lol. But I can only imagine what it's like upgrading from a series 3, lots of great new features.

I’m also upgrading from a Series 3. Decided to get it with Hanukkah money from my Uncle, and I should get $70 back for my Series 3. So many features have been added in the past 4 years and the increase in complications should be great. I can’t wait.

On a side note, I can’t believe they are still selling Series 3 as new. Not because of the lack of features but because it doesn’t have enough storare to do an update.

I’m still on my 3, cellular so have had enough memory to keep updating it without issues. But absolutely pining for a new one now…missing all that extra sensor data!

The extra sensor data are, for me, nice to know, but not really having much practical effect on my daily life. It's enjoyable to see this data, certainly yes. Just don't expect it to be life-changing. ;)
Blood oxygen indications could be very much life changing these days!

But I use it to plan my training schedule generally!

For me, it varies too much to be useful. People say if you dip below 95% you need oxygen, but I often get readings in the 80s, sometimes even in the 70s. And I'm breathing just fine.
As someone who has a relative with respiratory issues - this is definitely something to be discussed with your doc!

I know it sometimes varies with skin tone, although the combo of sensor leds that Apple uses should work well for everybody.

Nah, the vast majority of my readings are in the high to mid 90s. It's not like I remain in the 80s for hours, or even minutes. It's that I get readings in 80s one minute, then back to high 90s the next. So I figure I probably didn't stay still enough for the sensor to get an accurate reading.

Thanks everyone for your replies,

Couple days of using my series 7 and yes it’s a lovely device, the series 3 was basically getting to the point of, I wasn’t looking forward to new os updates every year like I always do for iOS because I knew the series 3, even though they sell it and support it, no real features will be brought for it

And the screen size is fantastic, it’s like with my iPhone 13 Pro Max, after using it now with the 120hz display, I can’t go back now and use 60hz on a different iPhone

A feature that I completely forgot about, which again bypassed series 3 was the hand washing feature - washed my hands the other day and there it was, which was a pleasant surprise

The always on feature is a feature that I badly wanted on my series 3 but couldn’t get it for obvious hardware reasons but now I have it - it’s so good to have

Sometimes it’s really nice to update every year but like with my phone which I update every 2 years due to my network plans, you really see an upgrade when you dont do it every year
