Had this problem with TM/TC while I was on a business trip

How do I get TM/TC to work while I am at a Starbucks or a library? Anywhere outside of my home network?

I have an external USB HD attached to TC (and it recognizes fine), how do I get it to automatically mirrors/backup TC in case the Time Capsule HD fails? Is this what you would call "Raid 1" setup?
