Had to "fsck" rMBP after sound stopped working

Is my SSD on its way out?
My sound wasn't working after waking up from sleep, so I rebooted and it hung while spinning. — Rebooted in Verbose mode (CMD+V) and it stopped here:

Repairing the disk in Recovery mode didn't work (stopped in the same place), but booting into safe mode w/ SHIFT did. Afterward the system rebooted normally.

??? weird? — Has anything similar happened to anyone else?
