As Mac Mini users we know we have to make some sacrifices to get our Macs as mini as this. Connectivity is one. All though we have two USB A ports and four USB C-ports with Thunderbolt support, we could always use more...and an SD card slot. Another thing we can't enjoy fully, is expandability. More storage, RAM, ports? Get ready to crowd those USB C ports.

The Hagibis USB C dock solves some of those problems. I got it for about €45 on AliExpress after seeing a Colorii branded one on Reddit.

Like the Satechi USC C dock for the Mac Mini, it has the same shape and almost the same color as the Mac Mini. The color difference betwee this dock and the Mac Mini is nearly indistinguishable. What sets this Hagibis apart from the Satechi, is that you can put a 2,5” drive in it. I had an old 500 GB hard drive lying around and i quickly put it in there and secured the door with the included screws and screwdriver.

The packaging is really nice for a €45 product. The build quality and feel of the product are pretty okay. It’s definitely plastic, but it feels sturdy enough. In operation, all seems to work fine. Using an SD card, thumb drive or the HDD is snappy.

All in all: I’m really happy with my purchase! I hope to get a 1 or 2 TB ssd in there soon to take full advantage of it.
