Hey guys, I've been looking through the PowerMac homepage and under the performance tab I found this interesting picture of performance in Photoshop:

Look at the "baseline" PC model it uses 3.6 GHz P4!!!

Running Windows. Hopefully OS X-on-Intel will be faster than Windows on comparable machines.

Edit: Oh, and it's already been stated that only the Dev Macs use Pentium 4s. The consumer models will use a new chip.

I hope you never really took those benchmarks too serisouly

Anyone can, and I'm sure Apple did, set up and ideal situation in which one particular configuration outperforms all others. Benchmarks are inherently questionable; there is no perfect benchmark.

I guarantee we'll see a similar benchmark in a year or two with the new Intel-based Mac on the top and a Wintel machine on the bottom
