Half a Time Machine Back Up

As I was backing up my iMac to my new Time Machine, for the first time, the HD on my iMac went dead. Great timing! I replaced the HD in my iMac, but I only have a partial back up of my HD. It is 117 Gig of 133 Gig. The file on the Time Machine has a .inProgress file on it. Does anyone know if I can restore all or some of the 117 gig to the new HD on my iMac.
