Hanbrake running EXTREMELY SLOW

Lately Handbrake has been taking 5-7 hours to encode subtitles to movies. This is odd because not too long ago it would only take about an hour. I have a macbook pro with a 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo processor with 4 GB of RAM. If anyone knows why HB could be operating slower than usual that would be great as would any possible solutions. Thanks.

C2D is going to be slow going in Handbrake. 5-7 hours sounds about right.

yep always .mp4 files.

Not what I meant. Are you using the same HandBrake profile? e.g. High Profile, iPad, whatever. There should be a sidebar to the right of the main application window that has these listed.

Oh I use normal everytime, is there another format that could speed up the process?
