Ever since Mac OS Mavericks (I think it was) handbrake has not worked and all DVD rips have been scrambled. I was informed that handbrake now works fine with High Sierra but alas it does not do so on my system and rips are still scrambled. I'm trying to rip DVD's so that I can watch them on my iPad on holiday.
I've read online that you need to install a library file lbdvdcss and the only way to do this is using homebrew via terminal commands. I'm not really au fait with terminal but have used it in the past using 'walkthrough' demonstrations, of which I've found one for Homebrew and libdvdcss.
However, what I would like to know is whether there are any risks installing homebrew and/or libdvdcss? Let's assume that I follow the instructions to a T and I use terminal correctly does installing homebrew and/or libdvdcss make my computer more vulnerable, is there a risk that it can affect the performance or corrupt the system etc?
Any advice would be appreciated.
