Ok...

So i'm thinking of buying appletv.

I saw that there is an AppleTV setting in Handbrake and it saves the movies i rip as an m4v file...thats open up itunes if opened from the folder it is stored in.

I am currently using the iPhone setting to rip movies and it saves them as an mp4 file...that opens up and plays in quicktime if opened from the folder its stored in.

My question is - if I rip covert a movie in the AppleTV setting...can i use that for my iPhone s well?

Will the appletv setting be to big for the iphone or will fit on my iphone when i sync it with my itunes?

Or do i have to continue to do two separate files - one for my iphone and one for my appletv?

THANKS FOR THE HELP

I was on the "HANDBRAKE" forums earlier and one of the moderators said there is an "Apple Universal Preset".

He said it will play on all apple formats on this preset.

he said its a preset in version 9.3

here's the link to my convo with him...

can't wait to test it out....

The Universal setting will give you a file suitable for the iPhone and Apple TV, and if you're using Handbrake to rip the movie from DVD, grab the lastest VLC since it requires it for the ripping.

what VKL is the latest one...

the one they recommend to get when you down load it ?

Thanks...

quick question....

once i download the VLC..which i have...

whats the procedure then...

do i have to run the movie through it....

will hand brake recognize its there...

handbrake prompted me to DL it one i got 9.3...i did....and i scanned the movie....

i dont think it needed the VLC...

i'm just not sure how, if, and when i should use it?

Thanks...
