Hi All

The latest version of Handbrake that does a wonderful of converting DVDs to iTouch suddenly in the latest version has a problem.

It will not read DVDs with over 25 or so/more chapters it crashes. Version 9.1 was OK but once you install version 9.2 your stuffed, you cannot go back and use 9.1....

The Handbrake people are aware of the issue but who knows when they will release a fix.....

So does anybody know another prog that does the job as good or even better then Handbrake.

I have also recently noticed this. Is there any fix in sight from the creators of handbrake?

Handbrake is such a good program, at what it is designed to do, I don't want to look for an alternative, therefore I can't suggest any.

There's no way to uninstall, then re-load 0.9.1.? 0.9.2 (they say) is Leopard-only, so the prior version must be around somewhere for all us Tiger folks.

As for alternatives, there's plenty on these forums. ffmpeg, VisualHub...

You can download 9.1 from their website......

Yep, I think that qualifies as "around somewhere." So you can't just trash 0.9.2 & replace it? Barring that, try something like AppZapper to get any sub-files?

EDIT: Can you clarify the "cannot go back" thing more? Again, can you trash 0.9.1, re-download 0.9.1, and launch it OK? But 0.9.1 can't "read" DVDs? If so, try this simple solution - http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4894

EDIT 2: Umm, or try this if you can't go back to 0.9.1 http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5001#p28480 (and try searching the Handbrake forums more, I found this very quickly)
