Hi friends!

I am new to the board and hope to be a minor player around here, and maybe major at some point. I'm a huge ignoramus and wanted to hopefully get some help from you Mac experts.

My goal is to take my homemade DVD that I can watch on my Mac and upload it to YouTube. I have been able to watch this DVD on my Mac with no problems. I have however failed miserably in trying to upload it to YouTube and after about 3 months of asking questions at the Mac store and on the web, I've decided to seek the advice of you boys.

I have a *.VOB file on my homemade DVD that was successfully ripped to my hard drive from VC Player. When I try and convert it using Handbrake so it can be viewed by YouTube, I get an error message when I click the source button that says NO VALID SOURCE FOUND. The only time I have been successful in uploading my video to YouTube is when in VCPlayer I do not select an audio format, and when I don't, I am able to upload it to YouTube, but I have no sound. When I select any audio format in VC Player, I can no longer select MP4 or MPeg as an acceptable encapsulation (spelling?).. When I choose the only enabled audio formats during the time I am saving the file to my hard drive, handbrake will then does not recognize any of those formats and I get the no valid source found error message.

So my question is how can I get this *.VOB file from my DVD to save as an acceptable format for YouTube because it appears that HandBrake will not perform this duty, unless I choose to have no audio on my YouTube video.

Have a blessed day
Kevin
