What kind of fps should I expect for video conversion on a 2010 macbook pro with an i7. I'm converting a 640x480 res video at 70% constant quality to .mp4 and I'm getting around 50-55 fps. Is that alright?

Sounds good to me. It's converting at probably twice the speed, in time, the video takes to play.

There are a lot of factors that affect the speed at which a movie converts. Currently, any conversion that's going 25+ frames each second is converting pretty quickly.

Thanks for your reply! I was just curious because the conversion starts off at like 80 fps and drops off. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting anomalous results.

You can crush the host PC with advanced settings so it's difficult to say.

But you get what you get, depending on settings.

I would recommend working with the daily build and not the latest binary release though.
