So I ripped a DVD using handbrake, converted it to MP4, then stored it in my Movies folder. However, when I go to play it, it won't open, and I can't figure out how to move it to iTunes. Any ideas why this is happening?

To move it to iTunes you open iTunes go to file>add to library then select the movie and it will import to iTunes.

That didn't do anything. I can't open the file or anything, even watch the movie.

Can you watch it in the finder at least? From handbrake 2.0 you can't rip DVD's unless you have the extra Kirby extension add on. If you try without it, it will still rip but you will Bly get a black screen of nothingness.

I can't.
Nothing I saw online talked about the Kirby addition, so I didn't know about that! Where do I get it?
