Im wondering, i download the dmg for handbrake, i clicked it to install but all it does is load, and it shows up as another device on my menu.

When i ex out the applicationa fter usign it, it still shows as a device on the side.

Is there anyway it can be installed and does not show up as device or is it meant to be like that that you can unmount device once used?

From the mounted icon, you should be able to run the installer (if it has one) or just drag the Handbrake app to your Applications folder. Then you can right-click on the mounted icon and eject it.

Thanks, after dragging to apps folder it works perfect.
So if theres no installer, just drag the file to applications.

I'l know how to install properly from now on, thank you. :)

You'll find that a lot of third party apps are installed that way...App store stuff does it's own housekeeping, but it's normal to see a window telling you to drag the apps icon to your application folder where the source is non Apple.
