Hello,
Does anybody know why my DVD's ripped on my iMac using handbrake are out of story sequesnce?

Likely protections.

Try watching the movies using VLC Media Player, which is free/opensource.

VLC should be installed in folder root/Applications, not in your home folder/Applications. Also, ensure you're using the same bitrate for Handbrake and VLC. This may also be part of the problem if you are booting into 64-bit mode, or if Handbrake is at one bitrate, yet your media player is at another bitrate.

Thanks for the helpful info. However, the reason I want to use handbrake into put some of my DVD collection on my iPad for when I travel.
 
Open the disc in DVD Player first, and start playing the main feature. Make a note of the Title number that plays, then encode that Title in HandBrake. Many DVDs use that annoying out-of-sequence copy method.
 
Get the Fairmount app. Open it and it will automatically mount and de-scramble the DVD you pop into your machine. Once thats done you can use Handbrake as normal, your movies won't be scrambled.
