handbrake question..for mac mini, ipad, atv

what is the best way for ripping DVDs in handbrake? do i use universal setting or Apple TV settings. Most of the DVDs i'm ripping right now are SD, not Blue ray or HD DVD.

Apple TV preset should work on all of those devices.
