so i bought the new transformer's dvd and I am trying to convert it so that i can watch it on my iphone (as i have done for many other dvd's in my collection)...my problem is that the dvd chapters are getting out of order when the conversion is finished.

for example - the end of the movie is now in chapter 3-4 instead of 20-21...

what do i need to do to fix it???

I'll pop in Transformers right now but that sounds like a DRM issue to me.

is there a way around it? i've only used handbrake in the past...but would another app like Mac the Ripper work?

Well I started a HB of it and somehow it wants to take 30 minutes on my computer. Know that it usually takes me 10-20 (octocore MP).
I am now transferring the video TS file to my desktop, that's a straight copy of the DVD to my hard drive. I'm going to try it from there because this morning while burning a DVD, the drive was louder than usual. I'm curious if the drive is failing.

Is there a way around DRM? There are programs, mostly ones that are windows only unfortunately, that can sometimes break through. Google Transformers Can't Rip and you'll find out what I mean.

I could have sworn I ripped this once for a friend's iPod.

just so that we're on the same page, i am referring to Transformer's 2 - Revenge of the Fallen.

Gah sorry. I thought you meant the first movie. Sorry for botching that up. I only have T2 on Blu-ray.

by playing the movie with VLC i was able to see which title track was playing when the movie started.
in handbrake i selected that title track & it seems to have corrected my problem.

thanks for your attempted help jessica.

I have a question that is not related to the OP but the title still works so I didn't want to start a new thread, but...

Every single time I open Handbrake to convert the AVIs I have to MP4s, it crashes every 5-10 seconds. If... IF... I am able to get through a single pass, the second pass always crashes... tells me to reopen the program.

Anyone know what's going on?

These are my settings. The files are large but the quality is pretty good.

Just curious if there is anything I need to change in the settings to get a smaller file and/or better quality.

Sometime the audio seems weird. In sync but not really. Strange. Also, I tend to see a little graininess with certain movies. Any help is appreciated.

Trying not to bug, but does anyone have any ideas about my last question (quoted above)?
