Handbrake slow after 10.9.2 update

anyone else having handbrake issues after updating 10.9?
i have a nMP and Handbrake has benefitted greatly from the new mac pro. after update tonight, 5x longer process. 45min TV show, 720p, over an hour with avg fps of 40...i was getting 150-200 fps before update. strange.

I just did a couple of rips with 10.9.2 and the latest Handbrake... about 50-70fps. But then I'm on a slowly Mini. If anything it seems faster to me.
