Hello,

I want to reformat some partitions on my external hard disk in MAC OS format, but while trying that using 'Disk Utility' program, I got this error
"Volume erase failed - Can't modify partition map".

I suppose that happened because it was formatted under windows.
I couldn't even delete the partition under MAC, so I got back to windows and deleted this partition.
But this also didn't work as MAC couldn't see the deleted partition too to try to reformat it!

How can I solve this? and why MAC can't see the deleted space unlike Windows?
