Handoff/continuity stopped working with 8.2 and won't come back

I recall having to jump through hoops to get it working when i first upgraded to iOS 8 / Yosemite. Now I'm currently on OS X 10.10.2 and iOS 8.2, and it appears that its stopped again right after updating to 8.2. I've tried signing out and back into iCloud on all devices, resetting network settings, toggling hand handoff/continuity settings on my devices... all nothing.

SMS forwarding to the computer was super useful, now I'm not even getting iMessages on my computer.

I had the same situation. I tried everything I could find with Google with no success. After giving up, it resumed working after doing nothing.
