Handoff/Continuity Support

I have a Macbook Pro 13" from 2010. It doesn't have bluetooth 4.0 so handoff/continuity with my iPhone 5S doesn't work. If I buy a bluetooth 4.0 adaptor (to put in my USB port) will handoff/continuity work?
