Handoff for Third Party Apps

I searched for a similar thread and couldn't find anything, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

I love handoff on iOS and Yosemite. It's great for the first party apps that support it, but I was under the impression that third party developers could implement it too. None of the apps I use seem to support it yet, which is a shame. Has anyone found any third party apps that do use handoff?

The Guardian app does.

Even if you are on the Guardian website on the Mac, the Guardian app pops up on the lock screen of my iPhone. Really nice.

That's pretty cool I'm assuming you have to be reading the website in Safari for this to work, right?
