Handoff from Apple Watch?

Hello everyone,

So I just ordered myself an iPad mini 4, and it's my very first iPad (wanted one now that there's finally Split View).

I was actually wondering, is it possible to continue with something from Apple Watch using Handoff? Do know that iPad doesn't support Apple Watch itself, but I'm not sure if this does mean Handoff can't be done from Apple Watch to iPad?

I pulled up Messages on my  Watch, then went to multitasking on my iPad. At the bottom, it gave me option "Messages from my Watch"
