Today I noticed that with no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi turned On on my iphone 5s my mac continued to receive my texts. I only had the 3g on. Isn't it supposed to work only with BT? What should I do if sometime I don't want to receive texts on my mac?

Handoff working via 3G

No，Handoff doesnt work via 3G or LTE. You receive messages on both your devices is because your devices are on the same iCloud account. Other handoff features such as receiving calls on Mac requires either wifi or bluetooth.
