Handsfree bluetooth issue

I've noticed the last couple months my 7+ has issues with my car (which hasn't had any software upgrade). When I make a call through the car, it doesn't want to switch audio to go through the car's speakers. Worked fine the previous 3 years with this car.

I have to remember to manually switch on the phone.

Any ideas? Maybe one of the phone OS upgrades?

I've even unpaired from both sides, and re-paired.
