Hanging spinning disk shot down

This has only started recently, i'm running El Capitan latest beta (GM?)

My macbook is hanging on a black screen with spinning circle, refusing to shutdown.

A little annoying as I'm forcing the shutdown by holding the power button.

Cold boot is speedy with no probs.

Any suggestions to get my macbook to shutdown.

After a few re boots I got disk utility running, ran first said 1 error found value set 38 amended 39.
Shut down now working..fast as it always was.
