It will most likely rain over here, but I didn't have any plans anyways. Everyone going to watch come fireworks? I saw some last night, didn't stay the whole time, didn't want to get caught up in traffic.

Well Happy 4th to my US brethren.

Its a cool cloudy day on the beaches of CT, but everyone is still out having a good time. Of note its good to see the Coney Island hot dog champ be from the states.
NEW YORK -- In a gut-busting showdown that combined drama, daring and indigestion, Joey Chestnut emerged Wednesday as the world's hot dog eating champion, knocking off six-time winner Takeru Kobayashi in a record-setting yet repulsive triumph.

Joey Chestnut poses with 66 hot dogs -- the amount he stuffed into his face to claim the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Competition title.
Chestnut, the great red, white and blue hope in the annual Fourth of July competition, broke his own world record by inhaling 66 hot dogs in 12 minutes -- a staggering one every 10.9 seconds before a screaming crowd in Coney Island.
"If I needed to eat another one right now, I could,'' the 23-year-old Californian said after receiving the mustard yellow belt emblematic of hot dog eating supremacy.

Kobayashi, the Japanese eating machine, recently had a wisdom tooth extracted and received chiropractic treatment due to a sore jaw. But the winner of every Nathan's hot dog competition from 2001 to 2006 showed no ill effects as he stayed with Chestnut frank-for-frank until the very end of the 12-minute competition.

Once the contest ended, the runner-up suffered a reversal -- competitive eating-speak for barfing -- leading to a deduction from his final total. Kobayashi finished with 63 HDBs (hot dogs and buns eaten) in his best performance ever.

It's been raining for three days, not slowing up. And It has always rained on the 4th of July as long as I can remember.

I hate the 4th of July.
Are you kidding the forth is the best day of the whole summer.:)

Raining and cold here. Feels like october. I'm at work.

There are no customers because nobody wants ice cream when the weather is like this, and we're missing the usual 4th of july beach goer crowd. So, basically I'm sitting behind the counter and doing nothing.

Wonderful.

Then I guess you guys don't want to know about this....

Either way, it's a beautiful day for a couple of BBQs with friends, so I'll catch you later.

It's a pretty nice day here...yesterday was a little too hot, but a little breeze came in today and we have some light clouds still. Should be a great afternoon and looking forward to watching the fireworks tonight from my balcony.

It's going to be about 105 (41 C) here today!

...Although it just wouldn't be the Fourth if it wasn't over 100. :D

Happy Fourth everyone. :)

Another 4th without fireworks or a day off.
When will Spain learn?

Happy 4th to everyone else. Hope there's some good displays, BBQ, and drunkenness without any injuries, of course.:)
