I think this is a bit outrageous!!! My current 200 texts per month is not lasting so I inquired about unlimited texting and this is what I saw on their website. Does anyone know if they offer perhaps an additonal 200 texts or something for $5?

For normal iPhone accounts, the SMS plans are:

$05 - 200
$15 - 1500
$20 - Unlimited

Not sure why you'd see $40.

who the hell would pay 20cents (USD) for a SMS for pay-per-use?

even in singapore, it's only 5 cents (SGD)!

That image shows a first gen iPhone, meaning, it costs $20 for the iPhone plan and $20 for unlimited texting, for a total of $40.

Yeah, that's far too high. I'm on a FamilyTalk plan and I split the price of unlimited texting with my sister--$15 each.

$20 per month is a lot. I got unlimited texts for a 1 time fee of $5.99 and boy do I use the hell out of it.

I'll fill you in but make sure to spread the love to another geek in need.

Its called................textfree and its in the appstore. Shhh dont tell anyone i told ya.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

You a student? There are codes you can apply to your fan account that'll give you free texts

eh, I'm not really a fan, don't like the way they always send from a different number

I'm still using my Unlimited M2M texting for $5, although they don't offer this anymore, which doesn't help you any.

Why text? Use e-mail instead. You can still send SMS messages to your friends (and they can send replies back), only you won't have to pay AT&T for the privilege.

Couple that with push e-mail and you've got yourself a perfect replacement.
