So I use my watch for sleep tracking, I use AutoSleep and HeartWatch.

A good amount of times now I notice that I will get a haptic feedback notification RIGHT before I am about to fall asleep. Pretty irritating and has jolted me awake a few times now.

Any idea what might be the cause?

Not sure but have you tried setting DND on your iPhone? That should in turn use mirrored settings on your watch which should put that feedback to a stop.

Or just tap DND (the crescent moon icon) on your watch. When I go to bed I turn on Do Not Disturb to kill the haptics and Theatre mode to keep the screen from lighting up every time I move my wrist. Both are available from the control panel by swiping up from the bottom.

I do the same, plus airplane mode. I have never had any haptic feedback at night using autosleep

Seems smart, I normally just manually disable raise to wake. Doing all three from the CC would be easier as the only reason I wear the watch at night is to track sleep.

Could it be that it's telling you to stand up? This notification comes up at 50 minutes past the hour, if you've been still since the top of the hour. The DND, theater mode, etc. suggestions made above should make it better for you.
