Hard case/sleeve for MBP?

When I purchase the 2012 MBP, shall I bother buying a hard sleeve and case for the Macbook Pro? I will be pretty much very OCD regarding a $2k+ machine getting damaged during and out of use.

What should I do?

I have a hardcase and love it. Very inexpensive, but has already protected against at least one injury.

In terms of heat dissipation, in informal tests with my unit, there were no noticeable differences between using it and having it off. However, I am a light to medium user (intense activity but for short periods). If you plan to game on it all day, I think you will see a difference, and may want to keep the hard case off.

When carrying it around I use a Booq Mamba bag. It is wonderful, and negates the need for a sleeve.

I shall be buying a hard-case and then put it in my backpack when transporting it.

The booq Vyper is the best protection I've ever seen in a notebook sleeve. In my opinion, it offers far better protection than any neoprene case, the zippers never come into contact with your MBP, and it looks great!
