hey guys this is pranav.....so i m having a problem with my hard drive functionality
all of a sudden yesterday ...when i connected my external drive .something this popped up....
saying that OS X cant repair the disk ....warning me to backup the data...so ihv backed up my data..bt just for educational purposes i wanted to no what caused this prob...nd in order to resolve it i hv posted this thread....n ihv nt even restored my hard disk.....so now i can only read nd nt write or make changes...so is there any command that can be used to sort out this messs......i hope to get some good solutions ....thnxx

Yep format the drive. This usually occurs when disks aren't ejected correctly
 
perhaps this must be the bst sol.....or what should i say ....hv already format it ...thnxx..ya in my case it can be the reason ..as in a hurry i just pluck it out .....
 
Should never just pull it out. Always always eject first.
 
DiskWarrior. It's a much heftier utility than Apple Disk Utility. It should also allow you to back it up before it repairs the errors.
