While I was using my 2010 13" Macbook Pro it shut down. When I restarted I got the question mark within the folder. When I restarted booting to the OSX disc, disk utility didn't recognize a hard drive.

I assumed there was a hard drive failure. My Macbook fell a couple feet off my bed on to carpet a couple days prior - perhaps this was related to the failure.

I bought an Intel 320 SSD 120GB and installed it. Alas, disk utility is still not recognizing a hard drive. Does this mean I have a bigger problem than a hard drive failure?

Thanks in advance for any help! I've been doing a lot of research online on a fix, but am stuck at this point. My Applecare expired last month and I didn't extend it.

Thanks. My girlfriend has a 2010 white Macbook, I can try installing it on that.
