hard drive for an iBook G4

Ok, here goes... I got an iBook G4 it went black after the dread " question mark appeared. I spoke to somebody, an apple certified service guy, who said it is definitely the hard drive.
I am assuming he is right and I'm ready to buy a new hard drive and put it in myself.

any particular brands any good? I figure I should get the largest /fastest... why go thru the trouble of putting a little one in, (scared of that job to begin with) might as well go for the gold

If you put any drive in your iBook yourself,, know it will take some time. They are hard to take apart.

You will need 2 tools to purchase, a Torx driver and a spange (?) Both will cost you about $10 before shipping.

Try outerworld computing for HD's. They carry different makes and sizes.

I am in the process of doing the same with a friends G4 iBook!

I've heard good things about Seagate hard drives. I assume the one in my iBook G4 is still the one that came in it. (Fujitsu 40GB) If it dies, I'll probably get a 7200rpm Seagate of some kind. Probably a 120GB or so.

Just make use you get a IDE drive not a SATA...
