Hard Drive Format

I have about 4 TB of video files on a 5TB drive formatted in Mac Extended Journaled. I want to copy these drives to another 5TB drive formatted so that it can be used for the reading and writing of files on both a Mac and a Windows Machine. I am thinking that I should use the expat formatting for this drive. Is that the correct format for use on both Macs and Windows machines?

Thank You JohnDS and yes I did mean exFat. I must have had a brain cramp there...
