Hi guys,

Let me first introduce myself. My name is Luis, a Spaniard Apple-lover based in London :)

I have a question that annoys me since almost one year, and that is the hard drive of my old macbook (Late 2007).

I have OS X Lion installed in this machine, and although sometimes I can feel the lack of power that a 5-year old machine has for some tasks, it is more than sufficient for me.

The thing is, the hard drive goes corrupt more or less every month. The symptoms are of course some loss of performance and even the system gets "hanged" for a while. When this happens, I run the "verify disk" and it shows me that the disk needs to be repaired.

Sometimes this repair works, sometimes don't and forces me to format and restore the Time Machine backup... which is annoying...

I have changed the original 120 GB disk (the issue started to appear with it) for a 500 GB...

Can you please help me? The only thing I can imagine is that both drives are kind of faulty, which to be honest seem pretty improbable because they work perfectly for a while!

Thanks a lot!
