I need to work in a high humidity area for a couple of months no AC or dehumidifier. Can someone explain how bad this will be for the archival health of the hard drives I need to backup too? Will be using 16TB hard drives. When I'm not using them they will be stored at night in pelican cases with desiccant packs. I could set up a dehumidifier for an area but there is no way to officially seal off the room.

Any insights would be welcome as I don't want to have to re-backup once in a more controlled environment.

The actual working mechanical components in the hard drive are sealed and will be totally unaffected by the outside environment. The only issues with the HDD in such conditions will be exactly the same as the issues with the computer's electronics. High humidity can damage the circuitery in both. SSDs with waterproof ratings will survive better, but your computer will still be at risk.
