Hard drive icon on screen missing.

Hi

Total Mac noob but I understand that there is meant to be the hard drive icon on the "Solar System" wallpaper/finder screen - I don't have one and I can't drag it there either.

Had the mini for 2 days, second hand off eBay, running Lion, think I might need to reset everything as previous owner looks to have just removed his files rather than factory reset it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to your desktop, click on "Finder" at the top of the screen, hit preferences, then you will be able to show different icons on the desktop of your machine

Thanks Jaykee, I now have my HD on my desktop. Not sure why I felt it was important to have it there but whilst I'm learning the ropes it's good to find these things out.

I'm sure I'll have more questions.
