Hard Drive in new iMac

The model name of the hard drive in my new iMac is Apple HDD. Is Apple now making their own hard drives?

No. The manufacturer is usually determined from the model number. In my iMac, the drive model is ST31000528AS which is a 1TB Seagate drive.

Thanks. My model number is APPLE HDD ST3000DM001. I had never noticed "Apple HDD" appearing before the model number on my other iMac, hence my query. Thanks again.

That's a Seagate ST3000DM001 which is 3TB 7200RPM.
