Hard Drive & Memory Upgrades on NEW 13" MBP

Anyone have any information (or opinion) on the best way to beef up a new 13"MBP? I have a 500gb Western Digital Hard Drive in my white MB, and am wondering if I could swap it into a new MBP, or if there is something "new" that wouldn't allow that. Also, what sort of memory should I load up into a new 13"MBP - That is, if I dont want to spend $1k upgrading to 8gb. Yeah you can reuse your hard drive

it's gotten much better reviews on newegg and is only $5 more
and purposely for Apple notebooks (not sure that that makes a difference though) but most of the reviews are from people putting them in macbooks

There may be the possibility that the new laptops have some extra bits in the OS for their new hardware that won't be released for other laptops until SL, but then again they may have already come out with the latest update for Leopard.
