Hard Drive Not Appearing in "Devices" Menu

I know this is going to be an incredibly easy fix, but I can't find it.

The Hard Drive on my new iMac is not appearing on my desktop, nor is it appearing in the "Device" menu in Finder.

1) Make sure the "Devices" header in the sidebar is actually expanded (the triangle error should be pointed downward)

2) Open your Finder preferences (press CMD and the comma key) and click on "Sidebar". Ensure that "Hard disks" is checked under "Devices"
