Hard drive not detected on Windows

I have an external USB hard drive which I recently formatted for my mac to hold backups from time machine. Before formatting, I moved all the files (movies, software ect) onto my Windows machine as it has a large hard drive. I'm now trying to put the files back on the USB HD but it's not being detected by Windows. It knows when I plug it in because it appears as a USB Mass Storage Device in the Safely Remove Hardware menu, but it doesn't appear as a new drive on My Computer.

Any ideas?

I read about that 3rd party software, but I do not remember the details since I format some of my external hard drives as FAT32 so both Windows and OSX can read/write them.

Google is your friend.
