I have been copyingn files from my internal hard drive to an external drive for months. All of a sudden, the external drive won't let me copy files to it or edit the files already on the drive. Plenty of room on it. Any suggestions?

Oddly enough I've received this message recently as well.

"Sorry the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code 0)

You say you cannot edit a file that is on the external HD.

Can you copy a file from the external back to the internal?

If you can do this, what happens when you try to edit it once it is on the internal drive?

Sometimes it's the obvious we overlook as well ....

Could it be a bad USB cable?

Could it be somehow a permissions problem?
