I ordered a second hard drive for my powermac g5.Its a 400 gig seagate drive.I power off my machine, unhooked everything and plugged in the drive.I boot up and the drive isnt showing in disk utility. Is it something i did?

I'd say re-do it

Pull off both connectors, then put them back on, and make sure they are fully seated.

G5 uses SATA or IDE?

If it's IDE make sure you have the master/slave jumpers in the right positions. I guess most systems of a G5 age would want both set to "Cable Select".
