Hard drive power down

Hi,

I have a PowerMac G4.

I have a main hard disk which is 60gb and slave which is 200gb. I have noticed that the slave drive powers down after a while when not being used, and takes a while to kick back in when I try to access it. Is this normal?

are they going to sleep? go to the energy saver in system prefs and uncheck the "put hard disks to sleep whenever possible" a little late but i hope that helps
