My hard drive has been vibrating alot lately. Is this a sign it's about to die?

Not really, but if you could tell us a little bit more about your HDD, like what model and brand it is or how warm it does get, and when the vibrating does happen, that would be nice.

You can find out your model via System Profiler > Hardware > Serial ATA.

Also a more descriptive thread title could help, for example: My HDD vibrates a lot, does this meant it is malfunctioning?

You could try reseating the hard drive. It possibly became loose during a nudge or something. If not then you may be looking to replace the drive soon.

The model number is Hitachi HTS545016B9SA02 its a 160 gb one. This is actually my second one. the first one just died like a month after i got it, but this time i think its my fault, cause i dropped it a few times. I vibrates as soon as it turns on and right now with fire fox and iTunes open is running at 86 F
