Hard Drive Question

Hi,

I posted a few days ago as I am planning on buying a new macbook pro this next week. I've decided I'm going to get the 15" i7. However I have a hard drive question...

The one that comes with it is 5400 rpm, but for £40 more I could upgrade to the 7200 rpm. My question is how much better is the upgrade? I plan to use the machine for photoshop, illustrator, indesign and flash mainly. Also some light gaming such as World of Warcraft, TF2 etc. Would I notice any sort of difference to performance by choosing this option?

A faster disk would only give you better reads and writes.

Loading a game from the hard drive would be faster. Loading and using Flash ONTO RAM from the NET would not be effected.

Launching applications and saving progress would be quicker.

That's that.

Is it noticeable? I do notice that such things do load, save and read very fast when compared to 5400rpm drives.

It's your choice if it's worth it.
