So I was messing around today and I looked to see how much hard drive space I have left. I looked and for some weird reason it shows that I have 262GB's of Other? Any idea what this could be. I have looked at the size of my videos I have imported all my picutres and music and it gets no where near this much data. Any help would be great! Thanks! BTW This is a MacBook Pro 2011 500GB HD, 2.0 GHz, 4GB Ram.

I'm guessing Other is your free space. You can verify this by looking at the Get Info window (right-click or Control+click) for your hard drive (Macintosh HD?).

I use GrandPerspective to give me a graphical representation of what is taking up space, represented by squares in squares (folders in folders). It's been a while since I've ran the app, but I don't think it shows free space as part of the result.

Ok thanks, I did this but it only shows 118GB free. I will download programs when I get home from work. But still weird.
